Γερμανική ζωοφιλική οργάνωση για την προστασία των ζώων σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο έστειλε επιστολή παρέμβασης , όσον αφορά στο θέμα των καταγγελιών για την απαράδεκτη κατάσταση του Διαδημοτικού ΔΙΚΕΠΑΖ, σε συνεργασία με την Πανελλήνια Ένωση Φιλόζωων «Ο ΑΡΓΟΣ»...
Όπως επισημαίνεται από την Πανελλήνια Ένωση Φιλόζωων «Ο ΑΡΓΟΣ», υπήρξαν συνομιλίες με τους συνεργάτες τους στη Γερμανία και τις εκεί μεγάλες ευρωπαϊκές οργανώσεις και οι προσπάθειες ευόδωσαν. Αναφέρεται συγκεκριμένα :
"Η συγκεκριμένη οργάνωση που συνέταξε την επιστολή είναι μια από τις γνωστότερες Γερμανικές φιλοζωικές οργανώσεις με έργο και δράση σε διεθνές επίπεδο. Αρχικά μας έστειλε την συγκεκριμένη επιστολή για να την προωθήσουμε σε όλα τα ΜΜΕ και όποιες Αρχές κρίνουμε εμείς σκόπιμο. Η φιλοζωική Οργάνωση ΕΤΝ έχει σκοπό να κινήσει και άλλες διαδικασίες προκειμένου να λυθούν τα προβλήματα στο ΔΙΚΕΠΑΖ και να φτάσει την έρευνα σε βάθος".
Υπάρχουν εκ μέρους μας κάποιες επιφυλάξεις ως προς τη Γερμανική ζωοφιλική οργάνωση ΕΤΝ, η οποία έχει επιδείξει μεν ενεργή δράση κατά των κακοποιήσεων, αλλά παράλληλα έχει καταγραφεί στη Γερμανία ως οργάνωση με ύποπτη πολυσχιδή επιχερηματική δράση. Η παρέμβασή της μπορεί να είναι θετική σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο γενικά για τη σωτηρία και την ευζωία αδέσποτων κατοικίδιων , όπως στη συγκεκριμένη απαράδεκτη κατάσταση του ΔΙΚΕΠΑΖ στο Σχιστό. Ωστόσο, οφείλουμε να καταθέσουμε και μία άλλη πλευρά δράσης της σε συλλήψεις φορτίων της για παράνομες μεταφορές ζώων, έτσι όπως έχει καταγραφεί και καταγγελθεί στη Γερμανία.

Animal shelter for strays Dikepaz
Dear Sir or Madam,
Being one of the biggest European organisations in the field of animal protection we receive an increasing number of reports on unacceptable conditions in the above mentioned animal shelter Dikepaz. Despite constant requests and complaints over the last few years no amelioration has taken place.
We do call upon you to immediately care for a livestock-friendly handling of the sheltered animals. This situation is clearly inadequate for a long-time EU Member State. The EU as well as the big tourist enterprises in Europe do already have the respective facts at their disposal.
Please collaborate with us in order to prevent Europe-wide protests against your municipalities which will go along with a boycott of tourists. We shall gladly offer our help with regard to the co-ordination. Trying to threaten and intimidate animal welfare activists cannot be a measure, only a collaboration in partnership will help the suffering animals.
Most of the complaints we receive refer to:
- untrained, anxious and brutal dog-catchers
- poor or often no medical care at all
- insufficient feeding up to lethal biting amongst the dogs
- weak dogs die of starvation in the enclosures
- enclosures are mostly closed so that the court stays clean

- of late a prohibition for private persons to care for the dogs
- numerous cases of death “of unknown reasons”
- prohibition for animal welfare activists to feed the animals although the dogs die of starvation
- predominantly non-protected enclosures (heat in the summertime / coldness in winter)
- many dogs are deliberately described as being aggressive although this is not true (lots of contrary graphic material exists)
- why are the dogs not brought back to their former habitat after having been neutered instead of having to vegetate for months / years in the shelter?
- no medical treatment of leishmaniosis
- violation of legislative stipulation in numerous issues
We willingly are at your disposal with regard to a meeting and are looking forward to an answer of yours until May 27th, 2011 at the latest.
The ETN e.V. would like to help you and the animals but is not going to accept that innocent creatures have to suffer from unbearable living conditions.
